Since our founding in 1915, the goal of the Beaver Drainage Improvement Corporation Board of Directors has been to effectively and efficiently manage daily operations of the District. We are responsible for the maintenance of our pumping station, water inlet stations and all district-maintained ditches within our boundaries. This includes maintaining our levee for FEMA and USACE certifications.

The BDIC and its members are governed by the Bylaws, Articles of Incorporation, ORS 554 and 547. Per ORS 547.404 all ditches and canals within the BDIC boundaries are owned by BDIC. Per ORS 547.410 BDIC may delegate maintenance of some ditches to the landowners they service, however the ditches must be maintained to BDIC standards. Not all district ditches may be represented currently. This map will be updated as more information is obtained.
How is ditch maintenance handled?
BDIC typically maintains ditches which service 2 of more landowners. BDIC will notify property owners if the ditches they are responsible for maintaining require cleaning.
The Oregon Department of State Lands requires that spoils from ditch maintenance be spread no more than 4 inches deep. Contact us below to arrange a meeting to view or discuss any maintenance requests that you have.
How are Directors appointed?
BDIC typically holds one landowner meeting every year, typically on the second Tuesday of March. Directors are voted in during an election every year. Eligible voters are anyone owning acreage within the boundaries of the district. Voting is conducted on a vote-by-acre basis, so if you own 5 acres you get 5 votes toward your preferred Director. Similarily, if you have 5,000 acres you will have 5,000 votes.
